Who Are The Teams Who Have Formally Qualified For The World Cup 2007 Semi Finals?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The teams who have managed to qualify for the World Cup 2007 semi finals are Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and South Africa.  The following sequence not only rates the respective teams in accordance with their net run rates and the points they have achieved but it also enunciates the chronological order in which the teams have qualified for the semi finals, which is just two steps to winning the Cricket World Cup for all of them.

Australia was the first team to qualify for the semi finals.  They achieved this feat by defeating Ireland.  Later on, New Zealand followed suit defeating the other and more later qualifiers of the final, the South Africans.  Third in the line was the Sri Lankan team, who despite of coming third in the Super Eight round has managed to maintain a high level of performance.  As for the Proteas, although they have had a wobbly World Cup on a whole and an even wobblier Super Eights round so far, they did succeed in making it to the semi finals, which is an achievement in itself.
