Where Is The Best Place To Install A Bathroom Exhaust Fan, Into The Attic Or To The Outside Direct?

I want to put in exhaust fans in our bathrooms to cut down on mildew, smells, & humidity hoping to preserve the bathroom longer & save wall paper & paint. the bathrooms have windows next to showers, so i thought we could install them above those windows which are also near the toilet. it's difficult to get into the attic & would require a professional. i was hoping to cut down on cost if we install ourselves. thanks. looking forward to your answer.

Either one of your ideas are good ones, they'll both work well. You might also consider the climate that you live in, because if you live in a damp climate, there might be plenty of moisture all the time. Whereas, if you live in a colder climate, the air can cause quite a heat loss if the fan isn't installed properly, and that could cost you in the long run.

Make sure it will seal properly if it's a wall mount, and if you go with the ceiling mount, please use an electrician. (I would personally opt with the ceiling fan, and light.) Good luck, and hope this helps.
