Attitude is the predisposition of an individual towards a certain idea, abstract, object or event. Attitudes are formed based on past experiences and individual predilections towards certain values and ethos. You ascribe to one set of values and they essentially direct your attitude towards something and shape up your predispositions. In other words attitudes are actually dependent on values. Our values actually define our attitudes. For instance if an individual has a value system which incorporates religious virtues like chastity or an adherence to righteousness they are likely to then feel an aversion whenever they are exposed to a contradictory experience and their attitude towards it would be of disgust and displeasure.
