Why Does The Fluorine Atom Tend To Gain Only One Electron?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Fluorine has 7 electrons on its valence shell so it only needs 1 electron to complete its shell and become stable and so it gains that one. Plus it takes more energy to loose 7 electrons than to gain only 1 electron
