Whilst in Microsoft Word, click on the symbol of the world with the link underneath it (if you hover over it, it should say 'Insert Hyperlink'. You can use this option to link to an internet address or you can use it to link to a file on your hard drive.

Enter the name of the internet address or the file that you wish to link to in the 'Link to file or URL' box. You can select an internet address that you've already visited from the drop down list at the side of the box.

In the box below, you can enter the name of a location within the file or URL which you would like to jump to, such as a bookmark or a database object. When you have finished entering the information, click 'OK'. The hyperlink should appear on your document. To show that it is a link, it will be underlined and the text will be blue.
