    A Medial Consonant is also called a Central consonant and it refers to the sound that is produced while reciting a word and air flows across the centre of the mouth over the tongue. In the words you have given above, the central consonants are as follows:
    Ruler - U
    Mit - T
    Tiger - E
    Nut- U
    Balloon- LL

    Ruler- L, not u. You did not include a discussion re: dbl medial consonants referring to dble or like consonants as in balloon and unlike consonants as in object. Also, divide syllables between the medial consonants. Saying the word in syllables helps with spelling.
