I Make My Own Rules is an autobiography of L L Cool J. He is an American hip hop artist and an actor as well. His real name is James Todd Smith.  He has also worked in several films. He is a very well known personality in the hip hop community. He has maintained a successful career for more than two decades. Thus one often gets an impression that life has been a bed of roses for him and that he always got everything on a silver platter.

But nothing can be further from the truth.
