Kenny Dalglish took over as manager of Liverpool football club in the summer of nineteen eighty five, ready for the nineteen eighty five, eighty six season.

Dalglish's first season in charge was set to be a truimphant one for Liverpool football club, but the season didnt start out very well.  After one of their worst starts to a league season.

Liverpool eventually wound the season up in excellent style, clinching the first division title with a one nil win at Chelsea, with player manager Kenny Dalglish scoring the only goal of the game.

To add to their league title, Liverpool also won the FA Cup, to complete the second part of an historic league and cup double, for the first and only time in the clubs history.

Liverpool beat local rivals Everton in the final, winning the game three one, with Rush (two) and Johnston scoring the goals which cancelled out Gary Lineker's opener.
