When And How Did Elvis Die?

Elvis Presley the King of Rock and Roll, died on August 16, 1977 at the age of 42 years at his mansion, Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee in the United States; the cause of his death was put down by the doctors as cardiac arrhythmia brought on by an overdose of drugs.

He was discovered by his fiancée Ginger Alden prostate in the bathroom following which he was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital where he was declared dead at 3:30 PM. There were various versions regarding the cause of his death though it is commonly believed that his death occurred due to lifestyle and stress related problems.

In his later years after his divorce in 1973 Presley lived an isolated existence and had to battle depression; he became over weight and also got addicted to prescription medicines like amphetamines, tranquilizers and sleeping pills; he was buried at Graceland next to his mother.
