Mike Tyson has boxed in 56 fights and won 50 of those before retiring in 2005 following defeat by Kevin McBride in June of that year. Tyson only fought in 27 professional boxing matches before taking his first world champion heavyweight title on 22nd November 1986. He won again in March 1987 against James Smith to take the World Boxing Association title. In August that year he took the International Boxing Federation belt against Tony Tucker. He then defended his titles six times. By 1990 his match record stood at 37 wins out of 37 matches. 33 of these were won by knockouts. He lost once in February 1990 against James Douglas and then one twice more in the same year. He fought twice more in 1991 and returned to the ring in 1995 in Las Vegas flooring opponent Peter McNeeley in seven seconds. Overall Tyson lost only 6 fights in his professional career.
