The dogs' urine consists of ammonia, bacteria, hormones, and uric acid. If it was not that smelly before, and has started to have bad odor now, then there must a problem with your dog's urinary system. Which is not absorbing all right kind of chemicals and making the urine smelly. Try to make him drink more water, it might help. But if not, then take him to a vet.
