    Angola is a country located in south-central Africa. Its northeastern neighbour is the Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire), and its neighbours in the south and east are Namibia and Zambia respectively. Its west coast is situated along the Atlantic Ocean.

    Cabinda is a province and exclave of Angola that shares a common border in the north with the Democratic Republic of Congo. Angola's capital and largest city is Luanda. Angola is a former colony of Portugal, and Portuguese is still considered the official language of the country. It is rich in natural resources, especially oil and diamonds.

    It is made up of eighteen provinces and 158 municipalities. The 18 provinces are Bengo, Benguela, Bie, Cabinda, Cuando Cubango, Cuanza Norte, Cuanza Sui, Cunene, Huambo, Huila, Luanda, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Malanje, Moxico, Namibe, Uige and Zaire. Angola is a nominal democracy and the official name of the country is the Republic of Angola.
