How Do I Gain Weight? Not Muscle, But Weight.

I am losing weight and I'm not really sure why. I was comfortable with my weight before but now none of my clothes fit and I'm losing my figure. I eat full hearty meals and still nothing.

Weight loss is a problem that is often a symptom of some other disease. There are many different causes of weight loss such as Depression, Diarrhea, various eating disorders, infections, Smoking etc. There can also be some other serious cause of this weight loss like cancer or AIDS and some drugs such as amphetamines, laxative abuse, and thyroid medications can also cause weight loss unintentionally. So first of all look into all the above things and consult a doctor if you think there is some medical reason behind it. On the other hand, you can also plan your diet and include fats and more fibrous food, this will take care of your weight loss.

Many things cause people to gain and loose weight and eating is only a small factor. Having certain types of illnesses (mental and physical), tape worms, stress, metabolism, muscle mass and I am sure there are many more.

Also, the times you eat, the amount you eat, the things you eat can also effect weight gain or loss.

I am not a nutritionist or anything but I would suggest first figuring out some of the details of the things I listed above that might be effecting you condition. Then speak to a physician or a nutritionist and see what they can do to advise you on the steps to take.

Just so you know, I am on the other end of the scale. I eat 3 small meals a day, excersize daily along with vigorous walking for at least 30 minutes a day and still my weight is stable (overweight). I did stop smoking about 1.5 years ago and that is when I gained the weight as I found out nicotine also encourages the metabolism and once I quite, my metabolism slowed. I am searching for ways to increase metabolism so I can get back down to a comfortable weight.

I try to eat a lot but I've had a lot of stress these past months and also I smoke I hadn't really ever thought about the stress part but stress does a lot and has a big part in my weight When I'm happy I eat more.

Go to McDonalds, if the problem persists then you might want to visit your doctor.
