What Are The Functions Of A Leaf?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

According to botany, a leaf basically is an above the ground plant appendage which is present mainly for the process of photosynthesis.

A leaf usually has a flat and thin shape, mainly to expose the cells which have chloroplast. Leaves also stock up food and water in them, and are customized in certain plants for additional purposes. External leaf attributes are vital for recognizing the plant genus, and botanists have created affluent terminology for describing leaf traits. Other plant sections like the stems or roots are non-determinant, and will normally continue to grow till the time they have resources to grow.

Two fundamental forms of leaves can be explained by the way the blade is distributed. A plain leaf has a complete blade.
