Why Can't People Stop Hating...and Erase Racism.....?
Hateful people........and the cause

Racism will never be eliminated so long as people accept the premise of categorizing people into races. It is bogus science, and mankind has just not gotten it thrit's head. The concept of racial classification is as legitimate as phrenology or reading tea leaves. Once racial classification is accepted, you have generated an US versus THEM mentality. Everyone splits up into teams along the lines that the labels have drawn.
Liberals make a big issue of celebrating our diversity. While I agree with them that our diversity of backgrounds is one thing that has made America strong, it must be remembered that you do not unite people by emphasizing their differences. You unite people by emphasizing the things they have in common... Same hopes, struggles, fears. The melting pot concept does not mean everyone who comes here preserves the ways of their old country. What it means is that they assimilate, and America absorbs and takes up those traditional things that are positive, and discard those which are negative... Making an American. A unique person, different from citizens anywhere else.
We have institutionalized racism. Our government asks people what race they are all the time. I filed for an SBA loan once, and while it is supposed to be considered without being effected by race, creed, sex, so on and so on... One of the first things it asked was if any minorities or females were on the Board of Directors. If that issue has no bearing upon it.. Why ask it? The Govt, and the movers and shakers of the country, they like the racial classification thing because as long as they keep us divided, we are easier to control and manipulate.
It is going to be hard to eliminate the concept, especially when so many public leaders promote it. It is a shame too... Historically, racism is actually quite new. The very idea of racial classifications is only a couple hundred years old. It is a psuedo-scientific concept created to jusitfy the oppression of certain peoples. The concept is bogus... but it has become second nature to most people.
Personally, I find racial classification to be ludicrous. When filing govt forms, and it asks race, I check "Other" and write in HUMAN.

You are so right !! I put other too.......especially if you do the geneology of HUMANS and find out where we all really started......and what the pigment of the first HUMANS were....we would then realize DOES THIS MATTER......But as you said the concept was created to justify the OPPRESSION of certain people. NOW NEXT QUESTION......since most know this ......WHY THEN when it's expressed this way(OPPRESSIVENESS) by certain people why are they labeled as playing a RACE CARD ?
Because it is not used to oppress anyone today. No Americans alive today have been slaves or slavers... those who think they are being oppressed in that manner are kidding themselves. Nobody is entitled to anything based upon their race. Too many are trying to use their race to gain advantage, politically or otherwise... that is playing the race card. Furthermore... it merely perpetuates racism. You are either a part of the solution or you are part of the problem... and whose who play such a race card are part of the problem. Racism began as a means to justify oppression, but it has mutated into something else. It has become the excuse many use for their own lack of ambition or other shortcomings. It is far easier to blame someone else of oppressing you than to accept personal responsibility.
One thing about this election, it is revealing racists on both sides. Racism is not merely being against someone because of their race... it is also racism if you support someone because of their race. Those who try to gain support using that as an issue ARE playing the race card. So far I have seen far more racism from the Obama camp than from the McCain camp. I have seen nobody (though I am sure there are a few out there) who proposed that people should vote for McCain because he is "white"... but I have seen a LOT who propose supporting Obama because he is "black". Every time someone says something like "We should vote for him, it will make history electing a black man"... another racist has been revealed. It is a sad thing, and a long ways away from what Martin Luther King said about judging men based upon character and not color of skin. While many other reasons may be valid for supporting or opposing Obama.. race is not one of them.
Color or race should not even factor into one's decision on the vote... and those who do are racists... pure and simple. IMO, color has no more relevance than eye color, hair color, height, freckles, or any other superficial trait.

It seems to me that some people are overly proud of where they come from and who their people are. They want to think that they are better than everyone else because of these things. Which in turn sparks a hatred, I think for other people who aren't like them. It truly is a sad thing to witness happening. I wish people would just quit it, and accept people for who they are, people with red blood, and feelings. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the rating dear, and you are welcome for the response, I believe in God, and His Love. ♥
I feel they are judging a book by it cover and they don't take the time to get to know the person first.

Racism will be around as long as people don't get education and look for themselves. All races have bad in them and people will have to see that for themselves to understand what they don't know. Truly ignorance promotes racism simply on the unknown.

well what about those that are educated.........then it's simply IGNORANCE.........THANKS FOR THE IMPUT.........COOL
Because there are people that will never let go of what has happened in the past and can not seem to get the idea that we all came from the same source/place. And as human beings they are far from being perfect or able to accept others they consider as being the ones that are to repay a debt that none had any thing to do with. and then you have parents that raise their children under the same beliefs as they have. So it will probably never end until the end of time here on earth.

True. And when you consider the factor that most people like being the "aggrieved victim", especially when they can use that label as a means to gain some personal advantage... it perpetuates itself.
this is so sad to think people will always be this way......those who feel that someone owes them something because of their past and then those who feel like so what..... it was not me that did it..... and then those who feel oh well this is how I was raised and I will continue to pass on this hate.......is not the answer either.....it's just SADDDD.....and WE HUMANS.........called some races SAVAGES..........listen to the NEWS and who are the real SAVAGES........THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWER..........
the real savage is hunger/starvation and disease.
It just comes from ignorance. Ignorant people have ignorant feelings don't take anything from someone ignorant.
