Can A Cat Get Provo From A Dog?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Not likely. Most species have their own version of parvo which affects that species. The cat version of canine Parvo virus is Panleukopenia virus. It doesn't usually cross species. Birds have Polyoma virus. Dogs, cats, and birds all have vaccinations to help prevent their version of parvo. In birds and dogs (not sure about cats) there are breeds which seem to be more susceptible and also which seem to be carriers (aside from the obvious). Humans have Human Parvo virus B19.
