Portrait of a Killer – Jack the Ripper: Case Closed is a non-fiction book by crime novelist Patricia Cornwell. Patricia Cornwell is a famous crime novelist in America. In the book Portrait of a Killer – Jack the Ripper: Case Closed she puts forth the theory that the British Painter Walter Sickert was actually the serial killer Jack the Ripper who terrorized people in the nineteenth century.

She expounded the theory that Sickert was the Jack the Ripper and was assisted by author Stephen King. This theory became very controversial in the British art world and the Ripperologists also criticized the theory. But Patricia Cornwell also lashed back saying that her critics were denying to accept her theory only because she is a woman and non-British. This book sold several copies because of the controversy.
