Unfortunately the election went the way I thought It would.  I also feel that votes were influenced by race and not experience.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see.  I'm hoping and praying for the best.

I was kind of hoping that he would but I believe the election was decided prior to the actual election.  I honestly believe that the popularity vote played a large part in how the election turned out.

Unfortunately, it did go the way I thought it would. I have a several reasons why I new it would go the way it did, however, at this point I will keep my opinions to myself, as I do not wish to anger anyone, and continue to hope and pray for the best.

Thanks to the economic downturn, the events in  Iraq and Afghanistan and the more wide spread intolerance of Bushs' religious rhetoric by traditional Republican voters the people of the USA felt a change of direction was needed.
And who better than Obama to symbolise a change of direction? The colour of his skin epitomises change. However if the cash bubble hadn't burst. The events in Afghanistan/Iraq and Dubbyas God speak wouldn't have  been enough to trigger the historic change we are now part of.

Cant help thinking back to 1997 here in the UK after watching the crowds of elated voters on the news the other night
I really was convinced Tony Blair was the man for change
