Pakistan is a part of the sub continent region and when the region was colonized, Pakistan did not exist as a separate and independent country. The region was colonized by the British formally in the year 1858. Pakistan became a part of British India. The colonial rule ended in 1947 when the Pakistan movement was successful and it resulted in British withdrawal and the creation of the state of Pakistan.
