I just bought my cocker spaniel his 9 months and am worried about the black stuff but my dog doesn't have any changes. Am not sure what to do.

I would monitor it for the next few weeks. I'm sure that is probably normal, but just in case just wait and see what happens. If you're really concern call the vet. It isn't easy taking care of a puppy, so just pay extra attention to his behavior. If it chances call the vet.
