Where Did The Trombone Come From?

It was all invented in the 16th century by Andrea Gabrieli and his nephew Giovanni Gabrieli and was basically used in the church. Later in the18th century, it was known as the sackbut and was a little smaller in size compared to the modern trombone and it also consisted of a bell that was more tapering and less flared. However, this instrument gained popularity only in the 19th century when it was introduced in the concert halls. It was during this period that Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel played the trombone on very few occasions. The structure of the trombone changed comparatively little between the Baroque period and Classical period. The most obvious characteristic was the slightly more flared bell than what it was earlier in ritual.
