  • What happens if my period only lasts one day?
If your period only lasts one day it is usually nothing to worry about. It can take years and years for some woman's periods to become regular, and you could have a period for one day followed by a week with no period, followed by 2 days of a period. It can be extremely frustrating, particularly if you are not sure when or where your period will come, but it is best to always be prepared.

  • What can I do about my irregular periods?
One thing you can do is to use some form of contraception that will control your periods. Some people are unsure about using contraception, if they are not in a sexual relationship, but contraceptives can be used to control your periods too, so you should not feel uncomfortable taking them. If you are not in a relationship, there are a few different options you could take:

  • The mini-pill or the pill
When you take the pill you will not have true periods, because the hormones in the pill stop an egg being released. The hormones in the pill also stop your periods so you can go for many months without having a period if you take the pill every day.

Most nurses will advise you to have a break from the pill and you can stop taking it for a week and during this week you will have a normal period. This is handy because you will know exactly when your period will come and as soon as you start taking the pill again your period will stop.

You could also take the mini-pill which works in the same way to stop your period, but does not work as a contraceptive. The mini-pill is often taken by younger girls to stop their period for a short amount of time, such as during their summer holiday.

  • The implant or injection
The implant and the injection stop periods all together. The injection lasts for approximately 6 months and works as a contraceptive during this whole time and the implant lasts for 3 years.

Sometimes women may have an underlying reason for only having a period for one day such as stress. However, you could also be pregnant if you were sexually active 7-10 days after your last period. That is when you would be ovulating. I would wait a week or two and take the pregnancy test if you don't start back up again. If it shows up negative wait an see if you start up the next month or you could also have a blood test done because they are 98% accurate.

Is it possible that you could be pregnant? Or maybe you are stressed out or run down and this can affect your cycle. If it is possible that you could be pregnant you should take a home pregnancy test or consult your doc

Chances are if you are pregnant which sounds like a good possibility you are going through the implantation phase. Wait a week after your period was suppose to start and check a pregnancy test then. You won't get a false-positive reading then.you can and still be pregnant women times a women will bleed a little bit.
