How Does One Determine Their Tithe?
Some say, it is 10% of gross income. Some say it is 10% of net income then there are those who say 10% of surplus income, and I was also told it is 10% of the INCREASE in income. What do you think?

Ten percent of total income that you receive....doesn't matter if it is increased or decreased just ten percent of what you receive as income.....

I've always given what I can afford. I figure He would understand that I take care of family at home first, then my community at church.

Tithing is support for your church. It would depend upon the church's guidelines. I would think a reasonable tithe would be 10% after all expenses.
Personally I throw all my money up in the air and let God take what he wants.

Catholics and Mormons say 10% of gross. My ex brother in law is the clerk of his church (he is Mormon) and one of his jobs is to make sure that everyone is tithing the right amount. My sister refused to join his church because she did not want to be obligated to tithe, but to choose to do it voluntarily. Needless to say, this probably contributed to their eventual divorce....

You're absolutely right! 10% of gross. And you did get 5 stars from me. The troll will probably be by and lessen that considerably.
