Where Is Velsao?

Velsao is the name of a beach in the south-west Union Territory of Goa. The beach itself is a tiny stretch located between the beaches of Bogmalo beach to the north and the Colva and Majorda beaches to its south. It lies to the south-west of the capital Panaji or Tiswad. Marmagao lies further east of Velsao the Southern Districts capital.

Goa is located on the western coast of India; it is bordered by Maharashtra to the north and Karnataka to the south. It is very popular amongst tourist both from India and abroad.

Velsao beach in particular is also very popular amongst tourists; the sands are clean, air fresh, waters warm and cool breezes.

The beach is easily accessible being just twenty five kilometres from the capital Panaji. The other beaches are connected to the beach by the public bus service. The nearest train stations are Majorda and Verna. If one prefers a healthier alternative cycles can be rented from Vasco and one can enjoy the slow village life while cycling to get to the beach.

Most foreigners tend to hire or purchase motorcycles for duration of their stay. But conservative India is very strict about drugs and nudity and these should be avoided as far as possible.
