If the radon level in a home reached to four picocuries per litre or more, then certainly it can cause cancer and you have to take measures to reduce the radon level in your home.

If we talk of the substance itself that has been attributed with the name of radon you can say that it is a radioactive gas that is being released from the decay of uranium that lies in rocks and soil. The gas is an invisible one and also the odourless and tasteless. It often comes out of the ground and diffuses itself in the air. In a few areas you can find that it is dissolved with water also and it is this reason that it becomes a part of ground water and from there it released itself into the environment.

If you want to save your house to get effected by radon, what you can do is to make it ventilated well so that if it is in your house, it goes out in the air and can not harm the people in the house.
