    The Court Martial of Billy Mitchell is the name of a movie which was directed by Otto Preminger, in the year 1955. It was based on the actual person called William Mitchell who was a top General in the American Air Force. He was born on the 28th of December in the year 1879 and passed away at the age of fifty seven in the year 1936. He is one of the most renowned figures in the history of the American Air force and is considered to be the father of the same.

    The film starred Gary Cooper in the central role portraying Billy Mitchell, alongside actors like Charles Bickford and Ralph Bellamy. It received Oscar nominations for Best writing, Best Story and Best Screenplay.

      Both THE CAINE MUTINY and A FEW GOOD MEN involve court martials, and both were nominated for Best Picture.  However, neither won.
