Are Pocket Bike Race Tracks Just For Posers And Serious Racers?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

No police, no stop signs, no speed limits and no cars! This probably sums up best the attraction of the many go kart and specially-built pocketbike tracks that are springing up all over the country.

Japan and Europe are now acknowledged stepping stones towards turning pro on full-size bikes. The best known example being Valentino Rossi, the two times Italian Pocketbike Champ who went on to become 125, 250 and 500 GP World Champ.

But you don't have to be a full leathers serious pocket bike racer to enjoy a burnout on a race track. Most venues have open or non-competititve sessions for riders to whizz around to their heart's content. Or you can hire a track for a session and go along with a bunch of friends for a friendly few laps of the circuit and get an adrenaline rush.

It is entirely up to you whether the lure of league racing is something you want to get into or not.
