Just to double check, are you using the printer that looks like a box and has a button on the left hand side? If so, simply pull on the little hole in the middle of the printer, and the plate should come down. Being VERY careful not to get ink everywhere, take the cartridge out and replace it with a new one if you have one. Glad to help :)
