    Do Dentists Always Have To Do An Injection?

    I'm 12 and i have 4 cavities! They are my first and I'm scared i absolutely hate needles even at this age

    They haven't really come up with another way of numbing your mouth for the extraction or other work, but really and truly the needle only hurts for a moment - it's over almost before you have time to realise it's there. And then when you are numb the work itself shouldn't hurt. Dentists are brilliant nowadays - they used to hurt quite a lot, but it isn't nearly so bad now.       It is much better than having the work done without numbing. They will first use cotton swabs with numbing agent, and you will hardly feel the needle go in. If you close your eyes, and don't watch. You will have a hard time even knowing when you are getting stuck.
