The Hard drive is commonly known as the Hard Disk Drive. It is one of the most essential features of a computer. It is a storage device that can preserve the information that has been stored into, even when this device is not powered. In other words we can say that a hard disk is a non-volatile storage device. It is a fixed and non removable device, thus the name drive is not appropriate for hard disk. The use of hard disks has now come to be way beyond just computers and it used in almost all electronics that have anything to do with memory like digital cameras, cell phones, personal digital assistants etc.
