Well a lot of people believe that USA imports most of its oil from Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia and Iraq which is an extremely wrong misconception. America imports most of its oil from Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Nigeria, Angola, Iraq, etc.
The exact amount of oil left is not known, there are many diverse estimates for the amount of available in different regions of the world. The large variety of some countries estimates, Canada in particular, stems from aspects like possible upcoming developments of non-conventional oil from tar sands, oil shale, etc.
The United Arab Emirates as well as Kuwait are said to have the fourth biggest conventional oil assets in the world at 98 and 97 giga barrels, each.
