    Presque Isle basically is city located in Aroostook County, Maine, America. The name Presque Isle is derived from the French expression for almost an island, as the routes of Aroostook River and Presque Isle stream in this region create a peninsula.

    This region experiences continental climate, with the average winter temperature falling up to 20s or even 10s at times. This city is once in a while hit by tropical cyclones. According to the census conducted in the year 2000, the total population of this region was 9,511 having an average population density of 48.5 per square kilometre.

    The census report of 2000 also stated that the total area of this region was 200.9 square kilometres out of which 4.7 square kilometres was covered by water.
