LIGHTS: Replaced candles, CANDY CANE: Turned one way is a "J" for Jesus the other would represent a shepherds staff. The white represents the purity of Christ and the red to represent the blood Christ shed for our sins. Sometimes a green stripe is added as a reminder that Jesus was a gift from God. STAR: Shined bright to announce the birth of Christ.

Christmas balls remind us that God created the earth, the different colors remind us that the gospel is for all nations and people of the earth.  The tinsel or Garland (usually silver, sometimes gold) represents generosity and kindness to the poor.
      Hope this helps.  God Bless!
