What Does Teal Mean?

The word Teal refers to many different types of duck, one of the most famous kinds of teal duck is the Ringed Teal. It is a small duck that is found in the South American forests this is the only specie which comes under the genus Callonetta, these ducks are usually placed with the dabbling ducks. However these species are closely related to the shelducks and they belong in to the sub family Tadorminae.

The common habitats of the Ringed Teal ducks include the swampy forests or the marshy clearings which are found in the well wooded lowlands.

The other kind of bird that come under the Teal are, Common Teal, Green Winged Teal, Black Teal, Blue Winged Teal, Marbled Teal, Cape Teal, Silver Teal and the Brown Teal.

Teal can also refer to the bluish green colour that is under the colour chart.
