These are usually found on the back of the computer, and are flat openings (see picture). USB stands for Universal Serial Bus, and these connections are what links most of your hardware (printers, mouse, keyboard, camera docking stations, external hard drives, etc) to your computer to make them work.

I have computer with them on the back, side and front. They can be just about anywhere. Usually there are some on the back with the rest of the computer peripheral hook-ups. But I have one computer with USB ports on the back the sides and the front.
