You need to be able to give change . You work a register every night. I would practice at home making change. Start with a 10.00 bill. Say the drink cost 4.50 . What change would you give the customer ? You would give the customer 5.50. Just keep making change at home. You will get it. You need to make sure you can give  the right change, you will be short in your register if you do not give the right change back. And you will have to pay it back out of your tips. You asked if bartending is hard. You have a lot of responsibilities being a bartender. Anyway, if you have never bartended and do not know your drinks you can order a bartending book/course that was recommend to me and I ordered it for 37.00. I would recommend it also. I downloaded the book/course and studied the book it has all the new drinks and shots and older popular ones, it also  teaches you everything else that you will need to know. Anyway this bartending book was perfect for me. I could not afford to go to a school, the school wanted 600.00 for a 2 week course  way to much for me. I love my job bartending I make great money usually 150.00 a night. Plus a check every 2 weeks 300.00  Anyway, I hope this info was helpful.
