How Do I Tie A Necktie?

There are different styles of tying a necktie. The choice of style is a purely personal choice and is not governed by a particular event or occasion. A Windsor knot is one of the most popular styles to tie neck tie. Loop the tie around your neck, with the wider end to your right and the narrower end to your left. The wider end must be at least 2.5 times the length of the narrower end. Now cross the wider end over the narrow end once. After crossing it, bring the wider end in between the points where it has been crossed.

Now slip it in the knot where the wider end had originally crossed over. Pull it downwards while you push the knot upwards. Basically the length of the wider end will shorten while the length of the narrower end will lengthen. If you have done all this correctly then when the knot has been pushed up to your shirt collar button, the narrower end will be a bit shorter than the wider end.
