The Thames has a well laid out footpath facility with informative signposts at significant places along the route. It is 180 miles long.

One could start from Thames Barrage moving upstream past Greenwich, the Docklands, Tower Bridge, Westminster and then up to Chelsea.

Undertaking five miles walk per day the tranquil walk can be enjoyed and covered in a matter of a week. It will show you the life style of the people living and working along the banks. The entire route runs within inches of the water. Walking past the river in London is an experience in itself where one can check out the sights and sounds of the city including the traditional landmarks like the House of Parliament, Big Ben, Tower Bridge as well as the Tower itself and much more.

A number of famous historical sites as well as picturesque gardens are situated along the river making it in all a pleasant and informative experience.
