      Installing HP Printer's Driver:
There are many ways to install printers. A new printer usually accompanied with a Driver/Application CD. You can simply insert the CD in the CD Rom and almost all CDs runs automatically. There will be some option like install driver; by clicking on that link will start driver's installation. Go through the wizard and the printer will be installed as soon as you finished the wizard.

In case your printer is second hand and you don't have the driver CD, then you are required to know two things about your printer. First the Brand and second the Model No. The brand for example is "HP" and the Model is "LaserJet 1200 Series PCL". Now this is enough information you need to install the Printer. Most of the Printer Drivers come along with the Operation System so you can start installing your printer through the following procedure.

For Windows 2000 and (XP Series).
      1. Start --> Settings --> Printers and Faxes
      2. A window will appear and double click "Add Printer"
      3. A wizard will start and in the "Local or Network Printer" dialog box choose "Local Printer attached to this computer".

      4. In the next Screen let the computer set the default settings and just press Next.
      5. Next you choose the Printer's brand from the left pane titled as "Manufacturer" and the model from the right pane. Click Next and Next again until it is finished. A test page will be printed after successful installation. If test page has been printed, it means that the printer is now ready to use. If the printer still doesn't work, then you can search the driver on the internet by giving the Brand and Model no in the search criteria.
      Wish you good luck.

You may want to call the manufacturer and see if it is still supported! This applies to new or used! If they discontinue support and you encounter any issue you may be looking for another printer sooner than you think! This applies to all-in-ones as well!
