The specific symptoms of HIV infection and the onset of those symptoms vary from person to person. I can only speak for myself. I was diagnosed with HIV 4 years ago and my symptoms were thrush and swollen/tender lymph nodes in my groin, armpit and neck. Thank goodness for my doctor who happens to be very thorough and suggested that I get tested for HIV. I initially thought that my thrush was due to hormonal changes because I was pregnant.
