My Cat Has A Infection In Her Eye, How Do I Take Care Of It?

Tea bags and Benadryl will not rid your cat of conjunctivitis (a superficial bacterial infection).  Have your cat seen by a veterinarian.  They will do a Fluorescein stain to make sure the cornea (outer layer of the eye) has not been scratched or damaged.  They may also gently flush the eye if concerned the foreign body-like a fox tail or grass--is still present.  Topical ophthalmic mediation is used to treat conjunctivitis.  Do not use medications for the skin or anywhere else--they need to be specifically for the eye. 
Conjunctivitis is not contagious to you or other animals in the house.
If there is a lot of discharge you can use a cotton ball soaked in warm water to loosen and remove discharge.

Try putting a warm tea bag on it three to four times a day.this should help.and you can give her benadryle but as the vet hoe much first they will be able to tell you how much benadryle to give her. Good luck!!

Kitty must be seen by a vet.  You wouldn't want to damage her eye, by using something you shouldn't be using on her eye.  My cat had an infection, and he was given an opthalmic cream for his eye.  It healed well, and very quickly.

Use a warm wet paper towel, and gently wipe, but be careful, as there is a chance of damaging the eye, if it doesn't get better in the next day or two, I suggest you have kitty seen.
