This is normal in bruising. It first turns blue, which means there is bleeding under the skin, then green to yellow and fades. If this continues, the contusion may be far worse and may need medical attention. It will be sore for a few days, but if it gets worse, can be an indicator or some type of infection. Give it a bit of time and if colours don't change, see a doctor
