Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There is substantial variation in the climate of Turkey where the summers here are hot and dry while winters are wet and cold. The Mediterranean and Aegean coasts of the country are known for being extremely hot and arid in the month of July and August, while both winter and summer are unbearable in the Central and Eastern Anatolia.

During winter the temperature in the mountainous region in the east can be dropped to -30 degree Celsius to -40 degree Celsius and snow can be on the ground for the 120 days of the year.  Summers in the west are quite hot and the annual precipitation is averages 400 millimetres. The driest regions of turkey are Konya plain and Malatya plain where annual rainfall is less than 300 millimetres.
