Can I Rent An Old House That The Landlord Has No Insurance On?
In Colorado, does a landlord have to have insurance on an old house that he is renting out to tenants?
Answers
I'm not from Colorado but I'd like to say this: Whether or not the landlord has insurance on the house or not, it would always be best for a renter to get renter's insurance. Your belongings in a disaster is your responsibility. Now, if something in the house were defected and caused you to get hurt... You would probably be up the creek w/o a paddle as far as suing and getting a settlement. Most you'd get in this situation is a judgement against the owner. I wouldn't rent from this person to begin with myself. Good luck to you tho.

Yes it doesn't matter , you are not covered under the policy anyway but make it understood that if the house burns down you will not be responsible for there loss
