Where Is Stubbington Village?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The large village of Stubbington is located in the county of Hampshire along England's southern coast. The port city of Southampton lies towards the East while the city of Portsmouth is generally towards the west of Stubbington, which lies between the two. The village has roughly fifteen thousand inhabitants.

The village has a church dating back to the ninth century during the reign of King Alfred the Great. The church is called the "Crofton Old Church". The church saw some extensions during the thirteenth century but has more or less been replaced by the Holy Rood church built in 1878.

The town has a war memorial commemorating all the local inhabitants who fought and fell during the First World War. The names that can be seen carved on the inside of the roof today have been reworked on as many of the originals had faded away with age.
