Since this is under the dogs category, I'm assuming that you read it somewhere and you aren't talking about a thrash metal "Mosh pit."
If it came from an advertisement, it may have been badly composed. "Mos" was probably an abbreviation for "months," as in the age of the dog. "Pit" was probably referring to a pit bull. They may have just run together. Is there a number in from of "Mos"? If so, that would be the number of months.
If you actually are talking about a mosh pit, it's a giant, seething mass of adrenalized humans smashing their bodies together in an act of worship for the art of Death Metal.
