Fram is a ship that was used for Artic and Antarctic expeditions by Norwegian explorers. It famously claims to be the wooden ship that has travelled most North and South for that type of vessel. It is in perfect condition and can be boarded by visitors in the Fram museum in Oslo.

You climb 3 flights of stairs to reach the deck and from there can access certain designated areas, going down into the cabins to view the displays of what it was like to live on board. The inner workings of the ship can be viewed and the engine room seen but not entered.

Nansen and Amundsen are the two most famous explorers to sail the ship, and the history of their and other explorers exploits are fully documented on and around the ship. The history is told through documentation, paintings, photographs and artefacts. The building of the ship is explained and backed up with diagrams and photographs of the building stages. The museum is really interesting and unique. Well worth a visit.
