    Valletta is the capital of Malta.  Since the 90s the economy of the Malta is growing rapidly. This is due to the better government policies and infrastructure development of the country.  The growth rate is 5 percent since last few years and it is constant over 5 to 6 years which shows that the economy of this country is stable and it is good for foreign investment.  The government is stressing on the infrastructure and construction industry. The ratio of the gross domestic product is constantly increasing.

    The government has so far controlled the inflation in the country but the unemployment is still high that is 5.6 percent up to the statistics of 2004. The agriculture industry is small due to its worst weather conditions.  The country imports large number of food products from other countries. The countries have many problems it does not have sufficient energy resources so all the energy based resources are being exported from the other countries. There are primarily three main sources for earning for Malta. One of them is tourism industry nearly 1.5 million tourist visit to Malta every year. The contribution to the gross domestic product is 25 percent by the tourism industry. The second main source of earning for this country is production. It is very famous in the production of semi conductors.
