There may be some variation according to where you live, so to get a sure answer you would have to say what country and/or state you live in. However, the most common rule is that you are fully adult at 18, but can leave home at 16 providing you have your parents' permission.

I don't know if you and your mother have tried talking this over with a social worker or other professional? There might be some way they could help perhaps? Good luck anyway.

You can move out.... If your parent or parents sign a release of guardianship. And if you move out you can decline to go back home... But stay in school because they can call Child services on your parents and then your parents will be pissed and then they will fight for you to come back home.. Good luck

I agree because as long as you stay in school evrything will be cool.

You will need to be declared emancipated.  Otherwise, you will need to be 18.  It's not easy living on your own.  Bills accumulate, there are expenses, and while it seems ideal, it gets very lonely.  Friends may use you for your place, until the money runs out.   If you ever do move out, try to make it on a favorable note so that you are always welcome back home if things go awry.

You can get emancipated...meaning that you can move out but you have to go before a judge and show that you can hold down a job, buy your own house, and support yourself. It is a really hard process to go through.
