Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

After he quit his job as a journalist with the Tallahassee Democrat in Tallahassee, Florida, James Cramer worked at the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner (which is now defunct).

The Los Angeles Herald-Examiner was part of a syndicate called the Hearst syndicate. It was a major daily newspaper that was published in the city of Los Angeles, California in the afternoon on the five weekdays (Monday to Friday). It also had a Saturday edition.

The Hearst group of publications also had a morning newspaper called the Examiner. The Herald-Express and The Examiner merged in the year 1962. Following this merger, the Herald-Examiner claimed to be the newspaper with the largest circulation figures for an afternoon newspaper in the country. A strike began in the year 1968, leading to a decrease in the circulation figures of the newspaper.
